Leadership
and Management
Leadership and management should go hand-in-hand, however, many managers often lack leadership skills, whilst leaders can be found outside of management. Managers need to guide employees through the steps of planning, organising, commanding and controlling in order to achieve organisational goals. Leaders guide followers using inspiration, motivation and empowerment to set their own goals. Many leadership traits and theories exist, each with their own strengths and weaknesses that need to be explored.
